The 3D Prima 2023 recap!

Last year we wrote a recap of what we had been up to during the year. Since 2023 is now over and we're in to 2024, it's time for a new one.
2023 was another great year for us where we saw a lot of growth in all areas. We hired more staff, widened our product range, got to visit new places, and of course shipped more products. Let's get in to it!

We Moved to a New Building!

Without a doubt the biggest thing that we worked on during 2023 was getting our new office and warehouse up and running!

Technically the move of the warehouse itself didn't happen until a week in to 2024, but all the work and planning got done in 2023, and we moved in to the office space in December.

This has been a huge project for us, and we're looking forward to seeing it start to pay of during 2024.

It's Big!

So exactly how big is this new warehouse?

It's about 5000 square meters. That's more than double the size of the old one.

It's also 11 meters high, compared to the 6 meters or the old place, meaning the total volume is more than four times bigger!

So how much stuff can we fit in there?
We should have space for over 5000 pallets, or about 150 40' containers.

The King Still Reigns Supreme!

Last year, the Creality Ender-3 series grabbed all five top spots on our list of most sold printers.
Did it manage to defend its place on the throne during 2023?

Yes, yes it did!

  1. Creality Ender-3 v2 Neo
  2. Creality Ender-3 S1 Pro
  3. Creality Ender-3 Neo
  4. Creality Ender-3 S1
  5. Creality Ender-3 V3 SE

The Year of Bambu Lab!

We saw a new entrant emerge who made a huge impact on the market in 2023 - Bambu Lab.

You could even go so far as to say that they created a whole new segment of premium

3D-printers in between what's previously been the split between the consumer segment and the professional segment.

The Premium Segment

You're probably curious as to which the best selling printers in this new premium segment is. Here it is.

  1. Bambu Lab X1C*
  2. Creality K1 Max
  3. Bambu Lab P1S*
  4. Snapmaker Artisan
  5. Snapmaker J1

*Including both Combo and non-Combo versions.

The Professional Segment

Last year we forgot to include any professional products in the recap, we're fixing that this year.

This segment was extremely close, so close in fact that we had two models ending up in third place with the exact same number of printers sold.

  1. Flashforge Creator 3 Pro
  2. Raise3D E2
  3. Creality CR-3040 Pro
    CreatBot F430
  4. Bambu Lab X1E
  5. Raise3D Pro3

Resin Printers!

Another segment we didn't include last year was the resin printers. We do in fact sell a whole lot of those as well.

  1. Anycubic Photon M3 Max
  2. Creality LD-002H
  3. Creality Halot-LITE CL-89l
  4. Anycubic Photon Mono X 6Ks
  5. Anycubic Photon M5s

200 Tons of Filament!

2022 year we broke the 100 ton milestone. 2023 we nearly doubled that with over 200 tons of filament sold!

In 2024, we have a lot of exciting filament news coming. Stay tuned!

BACK IN BLACK!

Last year we asked you to try to be a bit more colourful with your choice of filaments. Did you listen?

No, no, you didn't...

The share of black filaments even increased by a couple of percentage points. Y'all really don't like colour, do you?

In fact, only four out of ten sold spools had any colour other than Black, White or Grey.

PLA, PLA, PLA!

PLA continues to be the by far most popular filament material. Three out of four spools that left our warehouse in 2023 was PLA or PLA-based.

PETG, ABS and TPU also keeps their places from second to fourth that they also held last year.
In fifth however, we see that ASA is increasing rapidly and has now passed Nylon and is catching up to TPU.

We've Been Out and About More than Ever!

During 2023 we’ve been able to get out and exhibit at more shows and conventions than ever before. It's always a great time to get out and meet people!

  • 3D Meetup - Helsingborg, Sweden
  • CosXPo - Reading, UK
  • Insomnia i70 - Birmingham, UK
  • MakerFaire - Hannover, Germany
  • Insomnia i71 - Birmingham, UK
  • Hi Tech & Industry Scandinavia - Herning, Danmark
  • Man Cave Expo - Birmingham, UK
  • Formnext - Frankfurt, Germany
  • Sanjay Mortimer RepRap Festival (SMRRF) - Oxford, UK

Thank’s to everyone who came by and said Hello! We always love meeting all of you.

We Went to China!

For the first time since the pandemic, we got to travel to China again to visit some of our suppliers and partners over there.

Among other things, we got invited to celebrate Crealitys 9th anniversary which also saw the launch of the K1 and Halot-Mage series of printers.

Not only did we get to attend the anniversary celebration, we also got to attend their yearly company dinner, which included some spectacular performances put on by the staff.

WE Launched the 3D Printing Journal!

We have started writing our own Journal, where we are going to take a deep dive into 3D-printing technology.

The Journal will be filled with short stories, including news, history, and various information on all things 3D-printing!

You can find the first couple of articles here.

What's the Plan for 2024?

We're of course super excited going in to 2024. We have some big projects already in motion, some of which we hope to be able to share with you soon.

We will be looking to widen our product range even more, to make sure we have everything a 3D-printing enthusiast could ever want. With the new warehouse we now have space for a lot of new and exiting products.

With the new A1 and A1 Combo from Bambu Lab and the K1C from Creality, we're already of to a very promising start of the new year.

In the professional segment, the new Guider 3 Ultra from Flashforge are looking to be a very competent machine.

On the resin side, we're eagerly awaiting the first delivery of the professional grade Raise3D DF2 solution. We recently also entered a new cooperation with Loctite for professional resins.

We hope that all of you are as excited for 2024 as we are.

We would like to thank all of our customers, suppliers, partners and friends in the industry for an incredible 2023, and we hope to see you all again in 2024!
